ObamaCare – Astroturf and the Abyss

Posted by Concerned Citizen on 5th August 2009

In a striking turn of events, that actually surprised no one, it has now been confirmed that Nancy Pelosi is one of the most ignorant people that has ever held a public office. I have not given out a Blithering Idiot award in some time, so maybe one is due. Congratulations Nancy Pelosi, you are the Blithering Idiot of the Week. She has plenty of company in Congress right now and they are willingly showing their ineptitude day after day.

Astroturf? Seriously? Did that take you all morning to come up with Nancy or did one of your staffers write that little line for you? The indignation and arrogance on display by our Congressional leaders against the American people right now is simply appalling. These corrupt, out of touch, elitist morons cannot fathom that the American people are completely fed up with their crap and are finally standing up for ourselves.

Just a few short months ago Hillary Clinton stated that it was our patriotic duty to voice our dissent against a government that we disagreed with. There were multitudes calling President Bush everything from a murderer to a terrorist to Hitler himself. We saw morons like Cindy Sheehan literally camped outside his home, shouting horribly insulting and borderline threatening comments at the President. How did the former administration act when these ‘angry mobs’ showed up? Did he encourage other Americans to report them to their government for exercising their free speech? No. Did he chastise them publicly claiming that they were an unruly angry mob? No. Did he demand that others show up to counter their protests? Nope. He simply acknowledged their right to have their own opinions and protest against the actions of their government.

Now we see astounding arrogance coming from Washington in their personal attacks on citizens who are speaking their mind openly and honestly. Nancy Pelosi even went so far as to claim that these citizens protesting the nationalized healthcare were carrying swastikas and similar symbols to the protests. Really? I have done some extensive searching and can find not a single photo or video from these protests containing any such symbols. However, I was able to find multiple photos containing swastika symbols from earlier protests against President Bush. Was that who she was talking about? I wonder… This just goes to further show the feeble intelligence of this woman. If she actually knew anything about the Nazi (or National Socialist) Party, she would realize that it would more likely be those in favor of this national socialized medical program that would bear symbols hailing the Nazi regime. After all, one of the questions often ask of German citizens in the 1930s and 1940s was, “Are you a good socialist?” Well, Nancy, are you?

What they do not realize is that by dismissing these normal, everyday citizens who have legitimate concerns as nothing but an angry mob, they are likely to turn them into just that. Now we hear that they are canceling these town hall meetings in an act of pure cowardice because they do not want to face the truth of a public turned against them. They might as well stand upon the steps of Congress and shout, “Let them eat cake!” This will not sit well with an America already tiring of the wasteful, corrupt and reality deprived administration that has shown nothing but contempt for the will of the populace. I will point you to another time in our history, when the calls from the people went unheeded. A time when taxation was used as a means to control and laws were forced upon a people from a distant, detached government who did not concern itself with what those governed desired. We should learn from this past where the voices of the people went unheard and the protests that they staged were dismissed as a bunch of unruly ingrates and angry mobs. In the end this did not fare well for the governing body responsible for such injustices against the American colonies, nor will it do so now.

If we stare into the Abyss long enough, the Abyss stares back at us. Right now we stand at the edge of the Abyss, what we do will define the future of this nation for generations to come. I say we stand and fight.

Arise you sons and daughters of Liberty. Stand firm in your beliefs and make your voices heard from the tip of the Aleutians to the Florida Keys. Call them out and give them no quarter to the lies being told. Fight for your freedoms and liberty, lest they be stripped from you while you sleep.

Abolishment of Truth

Posted by Concerned Citizen on 9th June 2009

Is no one getting tired of this crap yet?

Seriously, this man stands before this nation and lies through his teeth knowing full well that he cannot prove a single thing he says. At least when Clinton lied to the nation, he did so skillfully and made it so that you were never sure when he was shooting you straight or filling you full of bull shit. He was an artist when it came to dishonesty and misdirection. Obama simply does not care if what he says is true or not, much less who believes him.

Just days ago we were treated to a speech about how Americas was one of the largest Muslim nations in the world. Uhm, not true. If you take the latest CIA estimates of about 1.8 million Muslims in the country that would place us somewhere around 58th out of 60 ranked nations. I wonder how the 76.5% of Americans that identify themselves as Christian like to constantly hear that we are not a Christian nation. How do they feel when the President of this country tells us that the Muslim population in this country that is less than 1% of the whole makes us one of the biggest Muslim nations on the planet? How about the fact that we are the largest Christian nation on the planet? Or do we Christian simply not count anymore?

I have already covered the other lies in that speech in a previous article, so I will not dwell over the idiocy of expecting people to believe that Islam gave us modern printing, the compass, algebra or our base understanding of the spread of diseases and how to cure them. What I want to focus on today it the sheer arrogance that it takes to stand before the American people and promise to cut our non-defense based deficit in half on one hand, while you other hand spends this country into massive debt. Does he think we are that naive? Does he really believe that we are that stupid? Or does he even care?

Where is the recovery? Where is the stimulus? Where are the jobs that were supposed to be created by the trillions of dollars of our money that Congress has plundered from the already overdrawn coffers? Oh, I see. Those jobs have not been created, but they have been saved! All rejoice and hail the mighty one for he has saved however many jobs he claims he has.

How do you count a job as saved? This is pure conjecture. The economy either creates jobs or loses them. Since Obama has taken office millions of Americans have lost their jobs. Our unemployment rate has soared to 9.4% and is only beginning to show hopeful signs of slowing. I will consider jobs having been saved when the number of jobless claims stops increasing and the unemployment rate begins to decline. Only then will we be saving jobs by *gasp* actually creating them.

I can barely listen to this man speak anymore for knowledge that if his lips move, we should beware. While other nations raise their heads to test our will and resolve, he tours around countries that have teetered on the edge of hostility against this nation for decades apologizing for OUR behavior. He panders to regimes whose citizens cheered as the towers fell and thousands of innocent Americans perished. He wants to talk with nations who openly show their hatred of this nation and threaten everything that we stand for. He cowers at the feet of our enemies and hides in fear from his responsibilities to uphold the constitution of this nation.

I am through with this. I have never before even come close to thinking this before. I have often argued against this notion with good friends in the past, but it may be time for Texas to find its own path. I am sure that there are many other fine states that may like to join us. Maybe not, but for the first time in my life, I would actually consider it.

Obama on Islam – The Truth is Relative

Posted by Concerned Citizen on 4th June 2009

I did not get to hear the speech that President Obama gave this morning, but I have just finished reading its transcript. I have to admit that this man can surely stir emotions within me when he delivers a speech. Unfortunately these emotions are frustration, embarrassment, shame and fear. I want to examine a few points of his speech that really caught my eye and cause me grave concern.

“The attacks of September 11th, 2001 and the continued efforts of these extremists to engage in violence against civilians has led some in my country to view Islam as inevitably hostile not only to America and Western countries, but also to human rights.”

Uhm, no. The Qur’an has done that. The religion itself has done that. The very words of Mohamed himself have done that. Islam is hostile to America and anyone who does not believe as they do. It is NOT the religion of peace and it is absolutely intolerant of any other religions or non-believers. I can quote passage after passage, and have done so before, that show Islam to be the violent religion that it is, completely opposed to the basic human rights that we cherish.

“I have come here to seek a new beginning between the United States and Muslims around the world; one based upon mutual interest and mutual respect; and one based upon the truth that America and Islam are not exclusive, and need not be in competition. Instead, they overlap, and share common principles – principles of justice and progress; tolerance and the dignity of all human beings.”

Again, Islam is intolerant and does not respect any who do not believe. There is no mutual interest that can be seen between a Muslim and an infidel. The principles of justice that Islam prescribes are violent and absolute ones, showing no mercy or compassion whatsoever. They practice honor killings without trials or remorse, even unto their own flesh and blood. They beat women for being independent, outspoken and free willed. They suffer no deviance from this strict religious and accept no argument towards moderation. The question of same sex marriage is an easy one to answer under an Islamic style system of justice: simply kill the homosexuals and there is no issue.

“There must be a sustained effort to listen to each other; to learn from each other; to respect one another; and to seek common ground.”

They will not listen to us. They wish to learn nothing from us. They will never respect infidels. There is absolutely no common ground.

“It was innovation in Muslim communities that developed the order of algebra; our magnetic compass and tools of navigation; our mastery of pens and printing; our understanding of how disease spreads and how it can be healed. Islamic culture has given us majestic arches and soaring spires; timeless poetry and cherished music; elegant calligraphy and places of peaceful contemplation. And throughout history, Islam has demonstrated through words and deeds the possibilities of religious tolerance and racial equality.”

Let’s see here… Algebra was developed by the ancient Egyptians and Babylonians well before Islam ever existed so, no. The magnetic compass is believed to have been developed in China during the Qin Dynasty of 221-206BC, so again, no. Other tools of navigation, possibly but that is too vague a statement to discern. Our mastery of pens and printing? Well since Johannes Gutenberg invented the printing press in 1440 in Germany, the Chinese perfected movable clay type in 1041 and the Buddhist introduced the earliest form of block printing in 880AD, I am calling this one false as well. The statement that they have given us our understanding of how disease spreads and is cured is just beyond ignorant. This understanding has come from many cultures, both ancient and modern. Islamic culture has also given us: terrorist hijackings, suicide bombers, honor killings, wife beatings, barbaric executions, jihads against innocent civilians and oppression of women’s rights for centuries. Throughout history, Islam has demonstrated through words and deeds it absolute intolerance of other religions and racial hatred.

“As the Holy Koran tells us, ‘Be conscious of God and speak always the truth.’”

Well, that is true and in that case I fear that President Obama is completely screwed. This entire speech was full of lies, half-truths and utter bullshit. Maybe tomorrow I will go into the absurdity of his support for Iran’s nuclear program that he briefly highlights in this openly apologetic and appeasement full speech.

How to Steal an Election, by Al Franken

Posted by Concerned Citizen on 5th January 2009

Does anyone remember Nancy Pelosi’s promise of two years ago to bring civility and integrity to Washington? Well, Nancy, thanks for nothing. During the recent elections, the Minnesota Senate seat was challenged by radical leftist Al Franken, most well known for his failed comedic and failed left-wing radio career which helped to send Air America’s rating and funding spiraling into the abyss.

Apparently, since he was a complete failure as a radio personality, he decided to run for public office where complete failure is rewarded. It was a close election in Minnesota, prompting a recount and demonstrating just how dangerous an ignorant and uninformed voting public can be. Franken started down by 215 votes when the recount began and insisted that every Minnesotan’s vote be counted. All well and good I suppose, until more and more strange things began occurring in the Gopher State. The recounting process ended this weekend and it would seem that Franken gained an amazing 440 votes in the exchange and now leads by 225 over Senator Norm Coleman.

I say it would seem that way because there are some glaring irregularities that simply have to be addressed. It appears now that more that 25 Minnesota precincts have more votes being counted after the recount than the number of people that actually signed in to vote in them. It also appears that instead of creating a clearly marked ‘duplicate’ ballot when election officials found a damaged one, they actually created an unmarked additional ballot thereby counting that vote twice. I guess they misunderstood the instructions and thought they should duplicate the vote and not the actual ballot. Also, it is highly odd now that Al Franken gained a significant lead within the past few days, that he all of a sudden wants to immediately end the process and declare himself winner. What happened to counting every vote Mr. Franken? I guess you assume every vote WAS counted if your people were actually counting some of them twice, eh? Not to mention that it seems that every single election board ruling either generated additional votes or prevented votes from being lost for Franken while costing or preventing Coleman from gaining votes. The election officials even reversed their own logic at times using the recounts and at others using the election night tallies, whichever benefited Franken more.

Now it appears that the Senate has ordered Senator Coleman’s office to immediately be closed and Chucky ‘Schmucky’ Schumer is claiming that they should seat Franken immediately. Before the Coleman campaign has a chance to challenge this fraud, Chuck? I see, it is like running the next play before your opponent can throw his red challenge flag in football. When you know you have gotten away with something you should not have, you better get that ball snapped fast so the other team does not have a chance to see the truth. What happened to the integrity and civility? What happened to making sure that every vote counts (oh, and only counts once)?

Well, despite what some my think, we here in Texas are a smart lot and we do not abide any of this thievery. Senator John Cornyn has already warned the Senate that the Republicans will challenge Franken’s appointment to the point of filibuster if they do not allow the legal process at the State level to complete before attempting to seat anyone in that seat.
This is the change you can believe in: theft, corruption, lies. Welcome back to a Democrat majority, I hope we survive long enough to correct this horrible, horrible mistake we have made.

The Democratic National Convention – Ignorance on Display

Posted by Concerned Citizen on 26th August 2008

I am not even sure if I can write about the Democratic Nation Convention this year, but I will endeavor to do so. I have listened to multiple interviews of attendees and I am continually shocked and dismayed at the simple lack of knowledge and understanding possessed by so many in the Democrat Party.

One example was when our local conservative talker, Mark Davis from WBAP News/Talk 820 interviewed Gene Karpinski, President of the League of Conservation Voters. The ignorance and hypocrisy of this man was astonishing. Davis began the interview by stating that he was all for conservation at the same time as we expanded drilling and began using our own resources. Karpinski retorted back that increased exploration and extraction was a ‘hoax’ and that it would do nothing to decrease the price of fuel. He tooled on about how our only hope was alternative energies and increased conservation proving what an idiot he was.

Even a middle school economics student should be able to understand the law of supply and demand. If you have a product that is in high demand and short supply, the price will rise. If you increase the supply of the same product and demand stays constant, especially if it decreases through conservation measures, the price will fall.

Since crude oil is traded as a futures commodity, an announcement that future supplies of oil will be made available will have an immediate effect on our market system. Even the announcement by President Bush that he was ending the Executive restrictions on exploration and extraction caused an immediate down trend in the price of crude. Speculation over public opinion supporting future drilling and continued speculation about decreased domestic demand has continued this trend. If you watch the markets you will realize that their reactions are not purely based on actual events, but on speculations of how those events will impact their particular commodity. When Ahmadinejad started rattling sabers in Iran or when Chavez nationalized his petroleum industry, the market immediately reacted sent the price of crude higher even though there was absolutely no change in the actual supply or demand of the commodity. This process works in reverse as well. Any even that promises to increase the supply of oil to the market, reports of drastically reduced consumption or surpluses, send the speculative price of crude down. If my ten year old son can understand this concept, how is it that most Democrats cannot? Or is it it something more sinister? Is it that they simply refuse to do so because it does not support their agenda?

Karpinski continued to state that the federal government should force auto makers to start producing more hybrid vehicles, absolutely ignoring the horrible amount of environmental damage caused by the very production of these vehicles. He also stated that the government should have been involved as early as ten years ago. He insisted that the government should have been forcing American car manufactures to produce hybrid cars years ago, despite the fact that there was absolutely no market for them back then. His argument was that if the government had forced them to start make the vehicles ten years ago, then there would be millions on the roads by now saving millions of gallons of gas.

This is not necessarily the case. If the government had stepped in ten years ago, in 1998 and forced American manufacturers to begin producing extremely expensive hybrid vehicles that they had only a very marginal market for, what would have happened is that American auto manufactures would be bankrupt and out of business. Another very simple economic law is that if you produce a product that there is a demand for, you can sell that product and make a profit. This means you stay in business and grow. If you produce a product, especially a costly one, that there is no demand for, you will not be able to sell that product and will lose money. This means you board up the doors and go home or you decide to manufacture a product for which there is a demand. Right now, there is a huge demand for hybrid or extremely fuel efficient gasoline vehicles. Ten years ago there was not. There are actually waiting lists from most manufacturers for these vehicles and they are selling as soon as they hit the lot if you do not have to wait. Suddenly, every manufacture out there is coming out with a hybrid or efficient gasoline model in their existing lines or creating entire new lines based on these technologies.

It is simple. When there is demand for a product, companies will produce it. If there is no demand for a product, they will not. The federal government has absolutely no business whatsoever telling any company what products it can produce and what it cannot so long as the business is of a legal nature.

I have checked out the website for this League of Conservation Voters. Let me quote you some of the sickening swill they are selling.

Today, at the opening of the Democratic National Convention, the Democratic Party adopted a new platform. League of Conservation Voters President Gene Karpinski issued the following statement:

“The Democratic Party Platform wisely embraces the energy plan put forward by Senator Obama, the strongest, most comprehensive plan ever put forward by a Presidential nominee. Obama’s plan recognizes the enormous potential of renewable energy to end our addiction to oil, strengthen our national security, fight global warming, and create millions of jobs across America. On this platform, Barack Obama and Joe Biden will build the clean energy future that America deserves.”

What?! The strongest, most comprehensive plan ever put forward by a Presidental nomineee. My God, Paris Hilton had a stronger, more comprehensive plan than Obama did! I am not sure I can stomach much more of this adult bovine excrement.

I wonder if Gene Karpinski knows how damaging to the environment hybrid vehicles are to manufacture.

I wonder if he knows how much water and fossil fuel are used and how much carbon dioxide is released in the manufacturing of once single gallon of ethanol.

I wonder if he even cares as long as he can promote his self-proclaimed messiah and his agrenda.

Blithering Idiot of the Week – Barack Obama

Posted by Concerned Citizen on 22nd July 2008

I think he will win quite a few of these. First, what does John McCain think about placing the importance of politics over that of us being victorious against those who mean us harm?

“I had the courage and the judgment to say that I would rather lose a political campaign than lose a war. It seems to me that Sen. Obama would rather lose a war in order to win a political campaign,” – John McCain

What does Obama think about winning a war versus playing politics with the lives of our troops? See for your self:

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHEIi4XKRmM&hl=en]

This man is a moron. He has no clue how to lead this nation and will cost the lives of countless American service men and women through his arrogance, inexperience and blatant stupidity. This video illustrates his dishonesty, his deceit and his willingness to placate to the political demands of the moment and not the reality of the challenges we face.

If this nation votes to place this man in charge of the well being of our Armed Services, we will be doing them the greatest injustice in the history of this nation.

Blithering Idiot of the Week – The Black Hole Morons

Posted by Concerned Citizen on 15th July 2008

I am deeply embarrassed to be in the same state with idiots such as John Wiley Price and Judge Thomas Jones. During a Dallas County Commissioner’s Court meeting last Wednesday, Commissioner Kenneth Mayfield was describing Dallas County’s central collection offices, where things such as traffic citations are handled, as a virtual ‘black hole,’ noting that paperwork seemed to enter that office and disappeared. In an enormously moronic display of illiteracy and hyper-sensitive racial bullshit, Commissioner John While Price, who is black, responded, “Excuse me? Become a what? Become a what? You mean a white hole don’t you?”

What?! You idiot! As Commissioner Mayfield tried in vain to explain, a black hole is a super dense collapsed star that possess gravity so intense that not even light itself can escape its pull. It in absolutely no way, shape or form is a racially inclined comment and is a perfect analogy for a department where paperwork is sucked in and disappears into oblivion. On the other hand, a white hole is the theoretical time reversal of a black hole that acts as a source that ejects matter from its event horizon. Again not a racial term and would serve as a very poor analogy of the idea Commissioner Mayfield was attempting to illustrate.

For those of you who do not know John Wiley Price, let me just state that he is Dallas’s version of Al Sharpton. He is a racial activist and does everything possible to divide the community along racial lines. Not to mention that he is apparently a moron and not intelligent enough to recognize a scientific term being applied to describe a county office with similar attributes. Apparently he also objects to ‘black holes’ being called ‘black’ since it promotes the negative stereotype forced upon blacks by the white community. Once again, this jackhole displays his ultimate stupidity by not realizing that black holes are so named because since light cannot escape them they are actually BLACK and cannot be seen directly, therefore appearing as a ‘black hole’ in space.

If this moron was not bad enough, Judge Thomas Jones who presided over the meeting and is also black, felt it necessary to publicly display his stupidity. He demanded a public apology from Commissioner Mayfield stating, “Could I get an apology from the Commissioner? In this day and age, you don’t sit around a table when you have diversity and refer to a black hole.”

Thankfully, Commissioner Mayfield stood his ground refusing to apologize for using a scientifically recognized term that had absolutely nothing to do with race to describe the situation.

This was apparently not good enough for the race baiters on the Dallas Count Commissioner’s Court. In a interview the next day, John Wiley Price continued to claim that the comment was racially charged and compared it to socially accepted negatives such as ‘angel food’ cake being white and ‘devil’s food’ cake being black. But how does that explain German Chocolate cake since it is dark brown but most Germans are white? Oh, my God!

This stupidity had got to end. I understand some terms being racially based, but not all of them are. If you say that you ‘Jewed’ someone down on a price instead of bartered or negotiated, that can easily be seen as a racially charged term. However, using the term ‘black sheep of the family’ has nothing to do with race. It is a phrase coined in the culture of the American farmland where black sheep where a rare exception among normally white breed such as Suffolk. The term niggardly does not have any thing to do with the race of a person or describe behaviors associated with any particular race. The term means stingy or miserly and is not racially charged whatsoever.

For the history of literature, white has represented good and black evil. Why this coloration of good an evil exists dates back far into our literary history and not just the history of this nation. Are terms such as ‘black magic’ and the ‘dark arts’ now to be banned as well because they denote negativity? What about some one having a ‘black heart’ or being as pure as snow? Why do we dress in ‘black’ to mourn the passing of a loved one or the fact that traditional wedding dresses are ‘white’ to symbolize purity? Must those traditions no be sacrificed at the altar of political correctness. I say not just no, but hell no!

Moronic race baiting idiots like John Wiley Price and Judge Thomas Jones can take their apologies and shove them where the sun doesn’t shine. Wait… That would make it dark, possibly even *gasp* black if the sun is not shining there. Oh, well, shove it there anyway you idiots!

Stupidity on Display – Congress vs Common Sense

Posted by Concerned Citizen on 4th June 2008

First off, the price of fuel is pissing me off as much as it is everyone else, but what is pissing me off even more if the fraking stupidity and ineptitude that or government is displaying when dealing with the issue.

I have never been one to buy into the big oil conspiracy theories or blame them solely for the rising costs of fuel as so many seem to want to. I have actually done some research into the profits made by the biggest four oil companies and found that they have been quite consistent over the last twenty-five years. They have remained constant at approximately 9.4 to 10.2%, what would be considered only a moderate profit margin in most industries.

What people fail to understand is that when you if you sell $40 billion of fuel per quarter at a 9.8% profit as Exxon-Mobil was doing just a few years ago, you make $3.76 billion. When you sell $100 billion in that same time frame years later, you then make $9.4 billion. That is called simple economics and it is caused by building and running and effective business model. When you take into consideration other corporations, Exxon’s 9.8¢ per dollar of revenue is a joke in comparison. Look at the financial sector for instance. Citigroup, Inc posted 15.2%, of 15.2¢ for every dollar of its revenue in 2004, a full 55% more profit margin than Exxon and no one is claiming that the banking industry is gouging the American public. There are plenty of other examples in other industries such a Merck, a giant among pharmaceutical companies, which posted a profit of 25.3%.

It is pure idiocy or ignorance to blame a company of cheating the American public for doing exactly what it has done for decades and profiting at nearly the same margin the entire time.

Let’s examine this from another stand point. In Texas we have a maximum allowed sales tax of 8.25%. Some of this goes to the state and some to local governments. I am not sure on the exact percentages. Now, let’s assume that you own a widget company based here in Texas and your widgets are made from Stock A, Stock B and Stock C. The wonderful widgets you turn out are sold at $2.00 and net you a nice profit of 10% or 20¢ per widget sold. You sell 10 million widgets per year, netting a profit of $2 million annually. Over the period of a year, the cost of Stock B rises by 50% and your cost to produce the widgets goes drastically up. To counter this you increase the selling price of your widget by 16.6% margin (Stock A, Stock B +50%, Stock C = 16.6% manufacturing increase cost assuming all Stocks were equal to start) to $2.33. Still making your 10 percent profit, .23¢ per dollar, you happen to sell 12 million widgets that year. You have now turned a profit of $2.76 million dollars, 38% more profit than you made the year before. Are you price gouging the public? No, you are maintaining a solid business model designed to preserve a 10% profit on the dollar.

Also, considering that the recognized break down of the cost of a gallon of gasoline in 2007 was the following:

10% Distribution & Marketing
17% Production & Profit (roughly a 7 / 10% split respectively)
15% State & Federal Taxes
58% Crude Oil Prices

When the cost of gasoline is almost 60% dependent on the cost of crude and the cost of crude more than doubles increasing from $60/barrel to as high as $138/barrel, then the cost of a gallon of gasoline will most certainly transfer directly. In our above example, had the cost of Stock B doubled, the resulting price increase would have had to have been at least 33.3% to cover the increased cost of manufacturing. This would have resulted in a price per widget of $2.67 and an increase in profits of 60% to $3.2 million. This example assumes that the cost of the three stocks were the same 33.3% of the product to begin with, not one of them costing as much as 60% of the total manufacturing cost and that being the item that more than doubled in cost. In that case the margins would have been even more widely skewed.

This is of course a very simplified model, but it illustrates that due to the increase in base cost of crude due to market speculation and rampant futures trading and continued increases in demand, the rise in profits of the ‘evil’ big oil is only to be expected in any company who’s business model is designed to maintain an steady fixed profit percent against its general revenue. It is idiotic to expect any company to start reducing their gross margin, because the gross revenues are through the roof. For Exxon to have made the same amount of money selling $100 billion in revenue per quarter as the did when they were selling $40 billion per quarter, they would have had to reduce their gross margin to 3.2%. This would be sure way for a company to commit financial suicide with their stock holders and when if the bubble burst would have crippled them financially as well. If they had done so when oil reached $138/barrel and a run on petroleum futures caused the price to plummet back down to $60/barrel, Exxon would have lost billions. It would have been a stupid suicidal move and now they are being lambasted by Congress for making smart business decisions. Their only crime is that their profits held steady throughout a massive increase in their production costs. We would herald the accomplishments of other companies for doing the very same thing, but we try to crucify big oil for running a well modeled profitable business.

Idiots! We have elected nothing but a bunch of idiots who understand economic about as well as the do quantum mechanics.

Moonbat Suprise – Insane Radio Caller

Posted by Concerned Citizen on 13th May 2008

Oh my God. I was listening to the Rush Limbaugh show today, when a liberal caller started to suggest that he agreed with Rush on the aspect of building more refineries. At first I thought that this was an intelligent caller who would make some compelling arguments about how new technology could refine more efficiently and cleanly than thirty year old refineries, but I was sadly mistaken.

Within seconds the call turned bizarre and then slid straight into laughable. This moonbat actually believes that the evil ‘Big Oil’ was behind the high gas prices so that they could strong arm the nation into allowing drilling off shore and all across the continental United States. He then said that it was widely known that Big Oil owned our government. They have fixed all our elections and are tightly in bed with the military. So much so that they pick when and where we go to war and do so just to increase gas prices. He said that historically every time we go to war gas goes us fifty cents a gallon and that proved that the military was controlled by the gas companies.

Then came the clincher. He said that it was obvious that they controlled the government since there were no investigations into the 1980 murder of John Lennon. You see, the oil companies had planned the Iraq war since the 1970s and knew that the only man who could stop them in their bloody quest for more oil was John Lennon. Therefore, they conspired with former President Richard Nixon and President Ronald Reagan to have Lennon assassinated in 1980 so that he could not prevent us from going to war with Iraq.

I am assuming that somehow, Lennon was going to quell the unrest in the Middle East, stop Saddam from invading Kuwait in 1993, prevent all the terrorist events leading up to the final catalyst that happened on September 11, 2001 and prevent the United States from engaging Afghanistan and resuming hostilities with Iraq.

It matters not, though. The evil Big Oil, who obviously controls our government, had him eliminated and President Reagan protected them from prosecution, all because they wanted to drill in ANWR and off the cost of the continental United States. It was no coincidence that he was killed on Jim Morrison’s birthday, obviously a message to those who oppose ‘Big Oil.’

You think I jest? I am afraid not. Rush sat there on the call and listened intently, even encouraging the callers delusions and fawning understanding and acceptance in obvious disbelief. I could not believe my ears.

Baldwin Breakdown

Posted by Concerned Citizen on 20th April 2007

Alec Baldwin - Definitely NOT Father of the YearNormally I would not even comment on issues such as this because I care so little for the happenings of actors unless they are entertaining me or they have a political agenda. Since Alec Baldwin fits squarely under the second category, I thought it appropriate to comment.

If you have not heard the explosive tirade that Baldwin left on the voicemail of his daughter Ireland’s phone, then you should listen to it before making any comments.

Alec Baldwin Tirade

While I feel that the leaking of this to the media was inappropriate and damaging to the child involved, it does not excuse the content of the message. I am a father of three and have only recently ended a vicious struggle to simply establish parental right to my firstborn son. For any of you who know me or are familiar with this site you will recall the struggle and hardship it caused my family to simply be labeled as the father of my son. I love my wife and children more than anything else in my life, so to hear a father speak to his daughter in such a way is appalling.

There are already some shameful people leaping to the defense of Baldwin, claiming that it was not his voice, that he was within his rights and that this is all Kim Basinger’s fault. While I think that if Basinger leaked this to the press, it is reprehensible, again it does not excuse the behavior. Even if this were the first time we have seen such a violent outburst form him, it would still not excuse this behavior, but this man has a history of instability.

Some are claiming that Basinger is obviously turning the child against Baldwin. If you listen to that voicemail, you can see that Basinger would not have to say a word to make Ireland not want to take his call. A stable loving father does not tell their daughter that they are pig without the brains to show him the respect he is due. That call was all about him. How she had insulted him for the last time and how she had made him feel like shit.

During the struggle to secure the rights to my son, I have had several heated exchanges with the opposing set of parents, at times exchanging language that I would not use in public. I would never have ever leveled that sort of language against any one of the children involved. I also strongly resisted the urge to disparage them in front of my children. The issues that the adults disagreed with, while affecting the children, had no business being forced upon the children or hashed out in front of them. There were even times that I walked away from events that my children had invited me to, so that there would not be an issue.

I believe that the judge was well within her rights to temporarily suspend any visitation rights that Baldwin may have pending a hearing and may be within her rights to remove them entirely depending upon the outcome of that hearing. This man not only needs to be removed from contact with his daughter, but should be committed to a mental institution or ordered to undergo some serious psychiatric evaluation. In the past few days we have heard all the talk of the signs shown by the unstable Virginia Tech student bent on murderous destruction. We have been told that we should have seen the signs and acted upon them in order to protect the innocent students. What about these signs? Should the court not act to protect the child in this?

This man is unstable, dangerous and obviously a negative influence on his child. Is this the feeling, compassionate liberalism that we have heard so much about? Does this show the caring and tolerance of those on the left? Would his threatening tirade fit the model of social justice and non-violent childrearing that we hear so much about? Don’t spank your children just call them brainless pigs and belittle them horribly. Wow. Thanks Liberalism. Good job.
