The Truth of ObamaCare – Part 2

Posted by Concerned Citizen on 13th August 2009

How this nation is not in full fledged revolt at this stage in the game is a mystery to me. Maybe it stems from the apathy permeating our culture or perhaps it is the feelings of complete detachment and helplessness that many people feel about our political process. We are currently faced with one of the most serious threats to life and liberty that we have ever seen in this nation and we are still allowing these people to stand behind their podiums and lie through their teeth.

President Obama was finally publicly called out for lying to the American people about one aspect of this healthcare reform yesterday, when the AARP denied any endorsement or support of any healthcare proposal. During a completely phony town hall meeting stuffed with Obama supporters and strategic plants, he commented that the AARP had endorsed this reform. He further stated that the AARP would not be on board if they thought that this legislation would reduce MediCare benefits to the elderly. Almost immediately, the 40 million member strong AARP organization denied the endorsement or support of any healthcare reform. Although they did admit to agreeing with President Obama that they did not see any threat to benefits from the reduction in MediCare, they strongly denied any endorsement such as President Obama had claimed. Of course the excuse from the Whitehouse was that the President simply misspoke. Really? Has he been simply misspeaking all this time? This is not a new claim. This has been repeated for months now.

Maybe AARP is feeling the wrath of its members. How this organization could even consider supporting this legislation is far beyond my comprehension and that of many of its members that I know. Most of the seniors that I know are deathly afraid of what this legislation means for their future care and do not support it at all. The AARP is playing politics with the lives of its members and they are starting to react.

For those of you who think senior citizens have nothing to fear from this lead into single payer socialized medicine, allow me to introduce you to Barbara Wagner of Springfield, OR. Wagner has the Oregon Health Plan (OHP) as single payer system put in place several years ago in Oregon. She also has lung cancer. When she found this out, her doctor suggested a new form of aggressive chemotherapy that has shown very promising results in treating the disease, even in someone of her age. Unfortunately for this senior citizen, the bureaucrats at the OHP did not agree with her doctor since the treatment cost $4,000/mo. They denied the treatment and offered to pay for hospice care or medically assisted suicide. How nice of the government to tell this woman that she was not worth saving, but she was worth being allowed to die slowly in her home or they were more than willing to pay to have her kill herself right now. Can you imagine a government behaving this way? Well you better start. By the way, there is good news on this front. The greedy pharmaceutical company that produces this incredibly expensive drug has contacted Barbara Wagner and will be giving her the medication for free so that the State of Oregon does not decide to kill her off. How nice of them.

Move on to more of these town hall meetings. Let us examine the other lies and falsifications pouring out of these dishonest charlatans from Washington. For starters, we will look at the town hall conference hosted by Representative Sheila Jackson Lee in Houston, TX yesterday. This Democrat embarrassment to the State of Texas had the unfettered gall to get on a cell phone while a woman stood and asked her a question about the healthcare legislation. Her pathetic excuse that she was actually trying to get information to answer the woman’s concerns and that they are taught to multi-task in Congress was a pitiful example of her ignorance and detachment. She did not give the woman the common courtesy of her undivided attention at least long enough for her to ask her question and she proves that she has no clue about this legislation and was horribly unprepared to answer her constituents.

To top off this disgraceful behavior, how about the doctor who stood up in support of this legislation? She originally identified herself as a pediatric primary care physician, but with a little research it was discovered that she was actually Roxana Mayer, an Obama delegate for the State of Texas and a campaign volunteer. Let’s make this clear. She was a plant. A dishonest plant who misrepresented herself as a physician (read as she lied through her teeth) to give her comments a false sense of weight in an effort to spread disinformation to the public on behalf of the Obama healthcare initiative.

Lies! Lies from the President, lies from our Congressional members, lies from the mainstream media and even lies from civilian plants placed inside these town hall meetings. You my friends are being lied to on a scale far more massive than you have ever seen before. It is time to wake up and fight back. As I have stated so many times in the past, this is not a debate or a discussion. This is a fight for your life. This is a battle to control your life and death.

Enough. When you can read through the Declaration of Independence and directly pick out offenses in that document that could easily be applied to the Federal government today, it is time that we act and take back this government of the people, for the people and most importantly by the people.

Intollerance & Hate – Core Principles of the Left

Posted by Concerned Citizen on 5th June 2009

Once again we see the intolerance, violence and hatred of the left. There have been many leftists that I have disagreed with, vehemently at times. However, I can recall not one single incident where I actually wish physical harm to come to one, especially not publicly or to such a vicious level at to completely demean the subject.

Here is your tolerant left. Here are your champions of women’s rights. No. The sarcasm fails me. They are nothing of the sort.

Today, Playboy Magazine published a list a list called So Right, It’s Wrong. This is a list of the top ten conservative women that they would like to hate f*ck. You heard me right. I did not coin that term, it was used many, many times in the vile article posted on the Playboy website. That is until the cowards pulled the article due to the outrage it caused. If you want to view some of the postings, I found a website that captured screen shots of the insulting article before the spineless scum at Playboy pulled it. You can view the comments on these professional women and the abhorrent languages used to describe how they would like to have violent sex with them, on RedState (Caution: Content Possibly NSFW).

What I find so infuriating about situations such as this is that when it is a leftist showing their complete intolerance of, hatred of and violence towards others it is somehow acceptable. There has been no mainstream media condemnation of this vile assault against these women. None on the left have come forward to condemn the actions of these petulant children for their assault on these women. Just as when that complete waste of skin Perez Hilton assaulted Carrie Prejean because she gave an honest opinion that he did not share, the left can call these women horrible names and suggest vile actions against them and it seems acceptable.

However, we are not to criticize a judicial nominee based on her racist comments or horrible record from the bench, when the Democrats schemed to prevent Miguel Estrada from being nominated to the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals based solely on the fact that he was Hispanic, ignoring that he was one of the most well respected trail lawyers and was supremely qualified.

We are told to be nice and not criticize President Obama’s dishonest, appeasing, apologetic speech where he panders to those who would just as well see us dead, when the left spent the last several years calling multiple members of the Bush administration everything from murders to Hitler himself.

We are said to be the sexist, racists, intolerant, ignorant rednecks, clinging to our guns and religion, but when you look for intolerance and hate, you only need to look to the left to find abundant examples. I will not stand for this hypocritical double standard bullshit any longer. Every single one of the people responsible for this article should be immediately terminated from Playboy. That means authors, producers, editors, researchers, etc. Everyone needs to be gone for this abomination against these women. I mean if Don Imus gets canned for a nappy headed ho comment, then these guys have to hit the pavement and hit it now.

No longer will I stand for the racist, sexist, hateful, bigot claims of the left. I dare anyone to bring that argument to me. I will bury anyone who does in multiple examples of bigotry and hypocrisy from the left. I am done with this hateful bullshit. I will stand for it no longer.

Fallen Into Disgrace – A Nation in Change

Posted by Concerned Citizen on 27th February 2009

In the short month since President Obama has been inaugurated he has made good on his promise to deliver change to this nation. We have seen a massive increase in Federal spending from the pork laden $820 billion stimulus package to the Omnibus appropriations bill filled with over 8,500 earmark projects. Earlier this week the President hosted a fiscal responsibility convention where political leaders from across this nation gathered to discuss our soaring deficit and struggling economy. At the conclusion of this summit, President Barack Obama stood before the nation and simply lied to our faces. He promised that the Federal government would operate on a pay-as-you-go program and ensured us that he would not spend any money that we did not actually have. He promised to cut non-essential programs in favor of those critical to the success of this nation, not raise taxes on any families making less than $250,000 annually and ensure that Washington did not leave a massive debt that would crush our future generations. Apparently, it was all a lie.Yesterday, Obama released his new fiscal budget to Congress totaling nearly $3.5 trillion dollars in a direct contradiction to his words just days earlier. Considering the $700 billion dollars already allocated to financial bailouts, the $820 billion dollars in the federal stimulus package, the $420 billion dollars in the Omnibus appropriations bill and not the $3.5 trillion dollars in the new Federal budget, within his first month in office, President Barack Obama has spent over $5.4 trillion dollars with promises of more to come. Our nation and our economy will be crushed under this massive debt. This is more money that any country has ever spent in such a short time in the history of this planet. This is the change we were looking for?

To show a fine example of more undesirable change, allow me to explain the new decision handed down by Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates. Since 1991 it has not been permissible for the media to photograph fallen soldiers returning home from a war zone. President George H.W. Bush prohibited this practice in 1991 during Desert Storm as a means of protecting those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their nation from being politicized in the media. Acknowledging the dishonor that this nation did unto its servicemen in past wars by using them and their sacrifice as political tools to seed dissent, President Bush (41) decided that he would no longer allow the media to photograph fallen soldiers returning to military bases in this nation. Yesterday, Secretary Gates decided that the media’s desire to plaster images of dead soldiers on television, websites and periodicals across this nation in an attempt to discredit this war should be allowed. I will give him the credit for providing the stipulation that the families must give permission for this to occur, but I can just imagine what will come of this. The first time a media outlet convinces a family to allow them to photograph their fallen loved one so that they might honor their service and sacrifice and then turns around an politicizes the soldiers death as a means to further a political agenda, Gates’ resignation should be demanded.

The media claims that Americans have been sheltered from the real cost of war by not allowing them to photograph our returning dead. Bullshit. We know the cost of war. We know the sacrifice made by those that the media dismisses as murderers before a fair trial. We know the price paid by the returning dead and wounded. I know personally. I have a dear friend who fought willingly for his country and fell in battle to a sniper round. Luckily the brilliance of military surgeons saved his life in Baghdad, but he will never be the same. The round stuck him in one temple and exited the other doing serious brain damage along the way. By the skill of those surgeons and the grace of God he managed to live, but his life is forever changed due to his injury. We know the cost.

If the media were not completely biased and had shown willingness to report fairly about this conflict, this might be a different story. All we ever hear from Iraq and Afghanistan is negative. None of the good is ever reported. I still have friends serving there. I hear from them how the children run to them when they see them on the street and how civilians invite them into their homes to thank them for what they have done for their country. We hear of Marines who killed innocent civilians, but we do not hear of the ones that placed themselves in extraordinary danger to avoid civilian casualties. We hear of soldiers who violated their rules of engagement, but never of those who lost their lives because those rules so restricted them from defending themselves as they needed to.

I have another friend, a Marine. This is a good man, good father and fiercely dedicated soldier. He flies an F/A-18 Hornet for the Corps and I personally know he has taken innocent lives in this conflict. Were the incident left unto the media, my friend would be labeled as a murderer, a horrible example of American aggression, but he is so far from that it is not the least bit humorous. What was his crime? What drove him to kill several innocent civilians? The answer is very simple: bad intelligence. What he thought was a legitimate, approved target containing high level al-Qaeda leaders, was not. Was it his fault that the wrong vehicles were in the wrong place and the wrong time? Was it the analyst fault or the soldiers that collected the intelligence that they were sure was solid? Was it the commander’s fault who issued the strike order? Was it the fault of the ground crews that loaded his weapons or the tanker crew that topped him off on his ingress to his target? No. None of them deserve the blame as this was not an intentional attack on civilians. This was an unfortunate mistake; something that happens quite often in war. This does not make my friend or anyone else involved some horrible person who disregarded human life. It makes them all soldiers doing the best to serve their country with honor and integrity. Things such as these unfortunately occur in war, but left to the wiles of the media my friend, this good faithful soldier, would have been made out to be a murder instead of the hero that he is. They would not have cared about all the close air support missions he flew covering other soldiers and Marines that were pinned down. They would not have cared that at times he took out targets using only the cannon on his fighter to avoid collateral damage when he carried a full payload of much more destructive weapons that would have kept him out of harm’s way. They would not have cared that this incident tore him up emotionally; leaving him unable to fly combat missions for weeks until he stopped blaming himself for those innocent deaths and realized that it was part of war. They would not have cared that this strong, seasoned jarhead called his wife crying the day that it happened and was unable to even tell her why. To the media, he would just be a murder. We know the cost of war and we know where the intent of the media lies.

Now these people have the ability to photograph our fallen dead as they are returned in honor to an ungrateful nation and a mourning family. This is the change we can believe in? Well, this is the change that we got.

The Palin Choice – Plain Brilliance

Posted by Concerned Citizen on 2nd September 2008

I have not had the chance to comment on McCain’s choice of Sarah Palin as his Vice Presidential running mate this past week. Let me first state that I think it was the perfect choice for him to make and balances his more liberal tendencies with the strong conservative values that his base was longing for.

A brief surface examination of Palin will show a woman committed to conservative values with a history of fighting corruption in government, even when it’s found within her own party. She served as a mayor of a small town in Alaska before being appointed to the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission where she discovered corruption among the officials serving on the commission. She resigned in protest and filed complaints against fellow Republicans, exposing their corruption and resulting in the resignation of both men and a record fine being paid by one of them. Palin then turned on the Governor who refused to address the corruption and defeated him in the next election by a significant margin. Her record on reduced government spending speaks for itself. During her short stay at the reigns as the Alaskan executive she has cut more than 300 government programs, reduced taxes and viciously routed out corruption in Alaska’s government.

Palin holds true to the concept of limited government, even rejecting federal money for construction projects that her state was perfectly capable of accomplishing on its own. She is a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and an avid sportsman, including hunting and fishing. She believes in the right of the American people to use the vast resources under our feet and not continue to be beholden to foreign interests to depend on our energy sources. While she supports conservation and alternative energy, she is not ignorant enough to believe that we should not drill our own energy.

Palin is a strong pro-life candidate, demonstrating it directly in her life through the choice to give birth to a known Downs Syndrome baby and now with the revelation that her 17 year old daughter is five months pregnant. She has shown that she would choose life and has instilled those values in her family even under the most dire of personal consequences. While many have made a big deal out of the teenage pregnancy in her family this past weekend, I frankly do not know what business it is of anyone that her teenage daughter made some poor choices. Can any of you with children say that they have never made a bad decision? What is important is how they deal with the choices that they make. Do the show responsibility and accept the consequences of their actions or do they make excuses and take the cowards way out? In the case of Bristol Palin, she chose correctly. She is having the child and will marry the father apparently with the love and support of both families. If anything, I think this strengthens Palin as a candidate. It shows that she is a normal American parent dealing with issues that any parent in America might face. It also shows that she sticks to her convictions even when it is personally or politically a difficult choice for her to do so.

I think it is appalling the way the left has begun attacking Palin right out of the gate. They have challenged her lack of experience and questioned whether or not we want someone with limited executive experience and no foreign policy experience a heartbeat away from the presidency. For that argument I think they would do well to look in the mirror. I would rather have someone with limited experience in the number two seat, than have someone with even less experience heading the ticket. Those in glass houses…

They have also attacked her by questioning if we really want to have a beauty queen running our country, as if an attractive woman could not possess the intelligence or capability to hold the office. What hypocrites the left continually shows itself to be. I thought this was the party that championed equality and women’s rights, or does that just could for liberal women? The disgrace that they have shown in attacking her choice to accept the nomination while having a Downs Syndrome infant would not be acceptable if she was a man and it should not be acceptable now.

Obama has been the only one on the main stage for the Democrats that has shown even a modicum of dignity in these matters, stating that the issue of her daughter’s pregnancy was irrelevant to the campaign and was not an issue at all. For that rare show of tolerance and class I will give him credit.

However, speculation and accusation are running rampant on the left and the mainstream media is going nuts over every minor issue regarding Palin. They have spent more time investigating her past in the last few days than they seem to have done investigating Obama’s questionable past in the last 19 months.

I smell fear in the air and rightly so. Palin is known as a fierce opponent. Dave Dittman, who worked for her gubernatorial campaign once commented that “The landscape is littered with the bodies of those who crossed Sarah,” most of whom she apparently found to be corrupt politicians.

The left should be scared and so should some on the right. This is exactly the type of politician Washington needs, someone who will not hesitate to clean house where corruption is found.

Be afraid, you elected officials who have abandoned your charge. Be very afraid.

The Worst Person in the MSM

Posted by Concerned Citizen on 8th October 2007

It has become more and more obvious over the past few months that NBC has abandoned its journalistic objectivity, if it ever possessed such a quality, and has become a lap dog of the far left. If it was not for a few compelling prime time shows and the prestigious position of presenting some of the more potentially interesting games this football season with their Sunday Night Football, then tuning to any NBC affiliate would be a colossal waste of time.

However, NBC has even managed to diminish the honor of broadcasting some of the NFL’s better showdowns this year accompanied by the commentary of Al Michaels and John Madden. I could over look them opening with the pompous country star Faith Hill, whom has lost all semblance of class and poise after multiple displays of arrogance, petty jealously and envy. This would be unfortunate, but not intolerable, even though there are multiple superior choices in the Country and Western industry than the spoiled brat that opens the broadcasts. What turns my stomach happens during the half-time intermission.

I appreciate the commentary of Jarome Bettis, Chris Collinsworth and Bob Costas. The last two have been staples of the NFL almost as long as the Madden/Michaels team has. Jarome Bettis brings a fresh and sometimes insightful look to the half-time report from the perspective of a player just out of the active rosters in the league. However, the shame comes from a segment called “The Worst Person in the NFL” which NBC has ironically chosen “The Worst Person in the MSM” to host, Keith Olbermann.

If this man was not already the joke of the mainstream media from hosting his own show who’s ratings are the lowest in that times slot, he would quickly become one after his appearances on the Sunday Night Football half-time report. His style of missing the point, spewing false hoods and half truths and plainly ignoring the facts has earned his MS-NBC show, Countdown, multiple levels of scorn and ridicule. On the show’s website you will fin a list of “The Worst People in the World” which contains Olbermann’s perverted view on the most horrible people the world has to offer. What names populate this list? Has it been Osama bin Laden or Mahmoud Ahmadinejad? Has it contained those in charge of the violence and death in Dafur or Burhma? No, typically it contains conservative politicians, rival news personalities or that evil Republican National Convention. Who is on this week’s list? Let’s see…

Oct. 5:        Glenn Beck
Oct. 4:        Republican National Committee
Oct. 3:        Jonah Goldberg
Oct. 2:        Pat Robertson’s Christian Coalition
Oct. 1:        Michael Medved
Sept. 28:    David Horowitz
Sept. 27:    Dana Perino

That’s right ladies and gentlemen, this man is a psychopathic, left-wing hack. Just look at the names on that list whom he considers to be the worst that humanity has to offer. Nice. I bet bin Laden and Ahmadinejad mad his Christmas list, though.

Last night Olbermann picked the Houston Texans’ Defensive Tackle, Travis Johnson, for the worst player of the week after he went off on an unconscious Trent Green after a Texan’s fumble recover earlier in the day. While I agree that Johnson’s activity both on an off the field was extremely unprofessional and uncalled for, he had ample reason to be miffed. During a defensive fumble recovery where someone is running the ball back against the offense, quarterbacks find themselves in an unusual position. Typically, quarterbacks are taught to protect themselves by sliding and covering themselves up when they are about to be hit. What they are not taught how to do is block a three hundred pound or more lineman. Trent Green made a serious mistake when he went to block Travis Johnson. Green went to a knee before the block and lowered his head and shoulders into the path of Johnson. Now, whether this was done as an intentional cut block to the knees or was the result of a quarterback’s inexperience at blocking in general is really academic. The block was illegal and very dangerous to both players involved. The block caused Johnson to summersault into the air flying him over Green and landing him on his head. His knee caught Trent Green squarely in the helmet, twisting his neck sideways and knocking him unconscious. Johnson was pissed, and rightly so. After the play was over, Johnson immediately turned on Green and yelled at him for the block, probably not realizing that even if the lights were still on, there was nobody home. He apparently went to far because the referee threw a flag and nailed him for a fifteen yard penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct.

The block that Green threw was very dangerous to both players and could have easily ended the career or even the life of both players. Greens punishment for his actions was getting knocked unconscious and carried off the field. Johnson’s punishment for his mouth was a fifteen yard penalty that resulted in a Miami scoring drive which threatened the Texans’ eventual 22-19 win. Neither player was right, but I do not see how you could call Johnson “The Worst Person in the NFL.” He was pissed bout someone chop blocking him in the knees which had the potential to end his career in that one single block. He overreacted, yelled at an unconscious quarterback and continued to run his mouth off the field, but when you look at the examples of horrible people in the NFL, Johnson does not top the list.

Why not pick the most dishonest, untrustworthy and worthless person associated with the NFL as the worst. The answer to that is simple. It would be boring to hear Keith Olbermann show up during the half-time report every Sunday and simply say, “Uh, once again, The Worst Person in the NFL is… Me, Keith Olbermann. I suck and am an irresponsible hack. Night folks.”

Attention NBC, get this jack ass off of what would be a decent challenge to ESPN’s Monday Night Football event. Reach deep down inside what remains of the soul of a once great broadcasting company and grab that tiny sliver of journalistic integrity that must still be there and get rid of this waste of air that is Keith Olbermann. Oh, and find a better opening act while you are at it.
